One day, I was walking around the office and noticed a colleague of mine copying instagram comments into an excel sheet one by one. When asked why, she mentioned that one of our clients was running a giveaway, and needed all the stats from all the comments.
As a developer, I knew this had to be automated. After building the initial prototype and using it internally, our CEO, Pat Law, insisted that this was a tool that a lot of people needed. We polished it up and released it to the public, for free.
Unfortunately, due to changes in Instagram's API, it was no longer viable to keep this running. However, in it's run, it was used by users from some of the biggest companies around, and also won a few awards.
